The CFPCM Accelerated Program (AP) FAQ


What is the CFPCM Accelerated Program and who is it for?

This Accelerated program caters to students who wish to be on the fast-track route to become a fully certified CFPCM Professional within 7 to 8 months! You can complete all 6 modules of the CFPCM program within 7 to 8 months inclusive of workshops and examinations.


What are the benefits of the Accelerated Program?

The AP is a 7 to 8 months program for students who wish to be on the fast -track route to attain their CFPCM certification as compared to the normal route that will take about one and a half year to complete the course.

Existing Students who have not completed the full 6-modules course could also use this alternative route to attain their CFPCM Mark.


What are some of the benefits of CFPCM Certification?

One can obtain the most prestigious and highly respected financial advisory and wealth management certification. Besides that, you can develop expertise in investments, insurance, retirement, tax and estate planning and gain credibility with the public and amongst your peers as a recognized professional and thus increasing your earning potential. One can also earn valuable LIA accredited CPD hours.


What is the CFPCM Accelerated Program structure?

It is a 7 to 8 months programme. Exams will start with Module 1 from 5th Jul 08 and ends with the final Module 6 in Jan 09.

For each module, there will be a 2 full-day intensive workshops conducted by the school.


What is the difference between the fast-track route and normal route?

The CFPCM Accelerated Program is a fast-track program whereby students can achieve their CFPCM  certification in 7 to 8 months’ time. For each module, there will be a 2 full-day intensive workshops conducted by the education provider. Exams will be conducted approx. 2 weeks after completion of each 2 full-day workshops session (16 hours each). Re-take exam dates are available.

For the normal route of the CFPCM Certification Program, students can enroll for the usual exams held in April, July and October/Nov each year. They can select from the self-study option or classroom-based method (for e.g., Module 1 has 7 sessions of classes totaling 28.5hrs). A student taking this normal route will usually take about one a half year to complete the full course.


What are the course fees for the CFPCM Accelerated Program compared to the normal route?

For new entrants, there is a discount of up to 25% if you enroll in the AP Program.

What other fees am I required to pay besides the Accelerated Program course fees?

Students are required to pay the FPAS examination fees (please refer to the enrolment form) and an annual student membership fee of $85.00 (include GST).  FPAS exam fees will be reduced by 15% for members who registered under the AP Program. To enjoy these preferential rates, members will be required to sign up for all 6 modules courses and exams upon registration or the balance of the outstanding Modules at one go.


What is the exam format?

The exam format will be the same as the normal route. Examinations for Module 1 to 5 are three-hour papers each, consisting of 95 Multiple Choice Questions. Module 6 examination is a 6-hour challenge paper, which is divided into 2 parts of 3-hour each. The first half of multiple-choice questions format is held in the morning, and the other half of Case Study format is held in the afternoon.

Is it compulsory to attend the 2 full-days intensive program?

You will need to attend at least 75% of the workshops if you wish to receive a Certificate of Attendance.


Besides the 2 full-day intensive programmes, are there any additional workshops?    

There will be an additional 45-min free Exam Preparation Session conducted by FPAS at the end of each module (subject to changes).


If I am granted exemptions from the certain modules, do I still pay the full amount in course fees?

Students must check with FPAS on exemption matters and once the exemption is granted, students need not pay for the module(s) that they are given exemption.
